Hot to export Outlook tasks

I must export tons of Outlook tasks in order to use them in Windows Vista's
Calendar or MS Works 9's Projects. May some one help me?

Thanks in advance.

What formats do those applications accept for import? Export from outlook
in that format.

Works 9's Projects don't even have (as far as I could see) an import
feature.

Any help?

P.S.: It's the second time I send this post. The first seems to have been
lost in the way... By the way, it is the second time such a thing happens in
only two days.

Re: Hot to export Outlook tasks

If outlook can't export it in a format the other program can accept then you
can't export to it. There is no magic way and I'm not aware of any utilities
that will convert tasks to vtodo's.

I'm not familiar with Works Projects but I thought the Works calendar could
import ics files, although its been ages since I last checked so I could be
wrong. Not that it matters since Outlook can't export tasks as ics.

Re: Hot to export Outlook tasks

Thanks for your help, Diane. Of course, I don't expect any magic. I've found
a tiny utility (outport 1.1.25) able to convert an entire Outlook task
folder into an .ics file, but Windows Calendar complains that it can only
import iCalendar files that conforms to RFC2445, refusing to import most of
the tasks the outport-generated .ics file contains.

Indeed Works Calendar imports .ics files, but it doesn't have anything to do
with tasks (as far as I could see).

Should I give up Windows Vista Mail/Contacts/Calendar and use Mozilla
Thunderbird/Linghting? I'd prefer not to do this for now, but it seems
unavoidable...

Best regards,

Rosivaldo.

Re: Hot to export Outlook tasks

You can view the ics in notepad - its hard to say why it doesn't conform
otherwise, but maybe its something you can edit.

You need to use the application that meets your needs the best, not the only
one that you can export current items to.
