How do I tell Which iPAQ I have?? It's got Linux on it.
I bought an iPAQ 3xxx with Familiar/Opie linux on it.
Can't figure out anything interesting to do with it, so thought I'd flash it back to an iPAQ. Indications are that I can download the original firmware... But I need to know which it is. I can't just ask it, cause it ain't that no more. Opie gives me ram/rom numbers in unfamiliar terms and they don't add up to known configurations. I found one picture that leads me to the conclusion that it's a 3760 because it has a normal lower-case "i" in the iPAQ logo. The other models seem to have a much larger stylized "i". I have low confidence that this is a reliable indicator. Ideas? Thanks, mike |

P.S. Maybe a call to the iPAQ folks would be a good idea before any surgery.

Re: How do I tell Which iPAQ I have?? It's got Linux on it.
It is my guess that the microsoft.public.pocketpc news group is like most
news groups where the participants are the users of the hardware/software referred to in the n.g. title. We all share experiences and more than likely very few representatives of any particular company. When I referred to the "iPAQ folks", I was suggesting a call to HP; I think they are the company for iPAQ. Good luck Don ASUS MyPal A639 user "mike" <spamme0@netscape.net> wrote in message news:g41a6v$pd6$2@registered.motzarella.org... > Don Schmidt wrote: >> P.S. I checked all the iPAQs that I have here (4). All the ones with removable batteries have a label under the battery - All the ones with fixed batteries have a label on the back of the device (like this http://www.pocketnow.com/html/portal...SCN1178sm.jpg). -- WH |
