How fast can a Dell Axim x50v read/write CF?
Does anyone know what the max read/write speed is of the Dell Axim x50v
(assuming no restriction of the CF card). I am wanting to buy a bigger card. but wondering if the read/write speed of a faster card (quoted at x133) would make any difference to say a x50 (which is what I have just now). Also does anyone know how fast x50 is? in mb per second, or infact what x1 is, so I can work it out. Its OK for manufacturers to claim x50 or x133, but it means nothing unless you know what x1 is in the first place. Any the other thing is if your device cannot write or read fater than say x10, I guess there is no point looking for high speed cards? Derek |

Re: How fast can a Dell Axim x50v read/write CF?
In general, the ppc i/o bus will limit the transfer speeds on faster
cards when accessing them with ppc's, but, depending on the price difference, the faster cards are advisable as their speeds can be exploited by using usb2 card readers when transferring to and from the pc. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |

My Axim x51v won't run with a x133 2GB CF in the slot, though the card works quite happlily in other devices. The memory supplier [www.7dayshop.com] had heard of this problem before. -- Dave ex Motorcycle Maintenance Workshop http://tinyurl.com/4mhaw |
