Re: activesyync keeps connecting/disconnecting
I had similar problems with connecting my Pocket PC to my desktop PC. Not
all USB ports are created equal and some have a hard time dealing with current loads up around the 500 mA design maximum for a USB port. As the port I was using was on a 'elderly' 2000 motherboard and was only UISB 1.1 spec, I fitted a quality NEC chipset USB 2.0 Hi-Speed PCI adapter card. Since then the difference has been like night to day and I haven't had a single unwanted disconnection. I'm now able to enable the 'use advanced network' functionality in my device and when it's plugged into the USB port, it now shows up like a LAN card in the system tray and I can see data transfer graphically represented. What USB port is it plugged into and do you get the same disconnections when test plugging it into other machines (with Activesync or WMDC installed as reqd)? Have you considered a 'quality' USB 2.0 upgrade card? Re: activesyync keeps connecting/disconnecting
Hi,
Also, you can try turning off charging via USB. Beyond that you may want to try another USB port. Finally if you have a hub, try connecting the Windows Mobile device directly to your PC. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "the Mink" <theminkleaveitout@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote in message news:op.ud2k0iksy2i9x6@home-8u78w1yg76... > pain in the ... phone connected via usb, syncs then a few mins later > switches off, then a couple more switches on again then off etc etc Why? > and how do i stop it. > TIA > > -- > Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ |
