Activesync backup file

Hi there,

I've got an orange SPV M500 phone and because i'm missing some java thingy
(the API JSR-82), i've asked orange if there was an update for my phone or
something.
They came with a solution, an update.
I've backed up my intire phone and synchronized it with my pc before the
update, after the update i had to do a hard-reset. After that i've tried to
get all the data back to my phone (contacts, appointments and so on). I've
got most of it back but it put my email-list from my computer onto my phone
in stead of my telephonenumber list wich used to be there.
So now i've lost all my phonenumbers (thanks orange).
And ofcourse the orange helpdesk is no help at all.

I've allready tried to put the backup i made back into the phone but that
doesn't seem to do anything.
The backup file should be on my pc somewhere (havent found it yet) and the
phonenumbers should be in that file somewhere.
Is there any way for me to open that file on my pc and read the phonnumbers
in that file?

thanks for your help,

OmeJozz

p.s. tha java thingy i was looking for in the first place is ofcourse still
not working....

What do you mean email list? It should resync the contacts from
Outlook's Contacts folder back to your device, which should
contain email addresses as well as phone numbers.

I used my outlook only for email and my phone only to telephone whith, so
originally i had only email-adresses in outlook and only phonenumbers in my
phone.
I never before "synced" my phone to my pc, i only made contact as guest.
Just to move some files around or install a game or two.

I found someone though, who made a java aplication wich can do just what i
was looking for. It doesn't do it extremely well but it got about 75% of my
phonenumbers back.
It puts them in a file with you can then import in outlook en then get them
back to your phone.

Unfortunately, the one number i was looking for is one of the 25% the
program couldn't recover, so i'll be seurching for more options and, of
course, follow this newsgroup...

(BTW, I'm the developer of the restorer app )

Just look into the STG file with a file explorer tool and search for the
contact's name. You'll find the number right next to it.
