pocketpc Windows Mobile 2003
I have a Medion PDA based upon Mitac Mio 168 running Windows Mobile 2003.
Chief usage is as a Satnav, which I have upgraded from TomTom5 to TomTom6, but new version does not allow rotation of screen (which allows for my PDA to sit nicely on the dash of my car) I have heard that Windows Mobile 2003 SE has the rotation feature I'm looking for, but I cannot find any information on the potential to upgrade, or where I can obtain 2003 SE software. Can anyone help? n.b. If 95/98/XP/Vista is anything to go by, I see no point in looking at Windows Mobile 6; my PDA has only 64mb memory. |

But when i start up my phone it hase a standard icon in the lower right corner of the screen to rotate the screen, don't know if that's what you were looking for... OmeJozz |

I think that's what I'm looking for; unfortunately, it's a feature of 2003 SE
(Second Edition), not the original version on my PDA. Re: pocketpc Windows Mobile 2003
try start/settings/personal/buttons
One of the assignable actions should be rotate screen. Note, this assignment has only two options, so the horizontal bottom will end up on the left edge. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |

Re: pocketpc Windows Mobile 2003
AFAIK, no SE upgrade for the Mio 168, sorry.
What apps do you need landscape in? If in book readers, use uBook or Mobi; if in browsers, use Thunderhawk. Also make sure you read my articles - I've often discussed this problem (in generic, not 168-specific). -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. Re: pocketpc Windows Mobile 2003
WM6 runs OK on 64M devices. I have a lot of phones / PDA's with 64M RAM only
and have no problems at all. (Of course, if you meant Flash ROM, which, AFAIK, the 168 only has 32M of, that's a different question.) -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it.
