set up connection to drives on home network
Hi
I have a tytn II htc and i run windows mobile 6. I have previously had a connection to my home network and have been able to open some files directly from that. I did a hard reset but now cannot remember how to get the path mapping working in file explorer. I can connect to the network to use the internet and I connect to one PC using active sync - but the network thing doesnt seem to work. Doug |

In File Explorer, select Menu/Open Path then tap "New Path" and enter your path (e.g. \\server\share) |

Re: set up connection to drives on home network
Yes I have done that but I am unable to connect.
My network is using wireless and I have not been able to connect for a while with my HTC - my notebooks can all see each other. Re: set up connection to drives on home network
Hi Todd
I am hoping that someone could tell me what if any settings I need to use on the device. If it should connect to the network automatically then I can look elsewhere for the problem. The device connects to the wireless internet ok - on the same network but just wont allow the device to browse the folders on the network computers. I have tried rebooting the router and resetting the device. I have tried rebooting the router and resetting the device. I'm stumped. Every now and then my device fails to see the network shares but a soft- reset cures it. Sorry... |

Re: set up connection to drives on home network
Hi Todd
Thanks for your advice again. Yes this is a bit fragile - i checked again this morning and now it works again - nothing different from yesterday - maybe there was an IP conflict or something but then that would preclude the internet access - who knows?
