WM5 to WM6
Hi all
I've moved from an XDA Mini S to an XDA Stellar Whilst overall I'm happy with the device one thing that really gets be is that most places WM5 had "New" WM6 seems to have "Delete" ! .... I create new things more often than I delete old ones. Is there anyway this can be changed ? It's VERY anoying on the Inbox application especially ! Thanks in advance Andrew |

That has to be the biggest complaint we see here about WM6 from folks who upgrade! :-) Unfortunately I know of no way to change it, that anyone's ever come up with. I must be the oly person who liked that change. Since I use IMAP and deletions from the device sync with my server, I delete a lot of e-mail from my device and then don't have to see it again on my desktop! Generally when I compose e-mail on the device, it's typically replying to another e-mail, so I rarely use "New." Sorry for the bad news... |

Re: WM5 to WM6
Well, a WM5 bug often prevented the deleting of e-mail on the device to also
delete it on the server. Maybe they were so proud of themselves when they fixed it on WM6, they decided to dedicate a softkey to it to show it off! ;-) "Andrew Kennard" <a.kennard@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:OD4c85JcIHA.4888@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Guess the developers all use IMAP then ! ![]() > > "Todd Allcock" <elecconnec@AmericaOnLine.com> wrote in message > news:fovqm8$41r$1@aioe.org... >> At 13 Feb 2008 09:53:12 +0000 Andrew Kennard wrote: >> >>> Whilst overall I'm happy with the device one thing that really gets be >>> is >>> that most places WM5 had "New" WM6 seems to have "Delete" ! .... Re: WM5 to WM6
Actually they sync directly with Exchange server as a native client.
I, BTW, am another you welcomed the delete. Like Todd, I do that a lot more than New. -- Sven MVP Mobile Devices "Andrew Kennard" <a.kennard@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:OD4c85JcIHA.4888@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Guess the developers all use IMAP then ! ![]() > |

Re: WM5 to WM6
I believe that if we would have the opposite situation (WM5 with Delete and
WM6 with New) we would have much more complaints. In the beginning I found it terrible as well. Then I began to look for other users and check what they do more, and came to the conclusion that around 80% of WM users do much more Deletes in their mailboxes than New Messages. That quantity proved to me that MS had the right thing in mind when they made the change. So I just got used to it and today I don't feel the difference anymore. -- ---- Helio Diamant MS-MVP/Mobile Devices Editor - PocketPCFreak.com "Todd Allcock" <elecconnec@AmericaOnLine.com> wrote in message news:fovqm8$41r$1@aioe.org... > At 13 Feb 2008 09:53:12 +0000 Andrew Kennard wrote: > >> Whilst overall I'm happy with the device one thing that really gets be is >> that most places WM5 had "New" WM6 seems to have "Delete" ! ....
