O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
This is driving me crazy
the buttons on my XDA have stopped working. None of the buttons under the screen work, the camera button does work, the jog wheel doesn't work (although if I press it, it brings up the start menu), the voice command and ok buttons don't work. The on/off button seems to be OK. I've checked the soft buttons are correctly assigned in Start>Settings>Buttons I've downloaded and installed MyMobiler (which allows control from the desktop) the notes, messaging, contacts and calendar buttons on the toolbar at the bottom of the Mymobiler screen on the PC all function but the talk and call end buttons don't. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem - can anyone help please? Thanks Neil |

Other than that, I am no nearer a solution except that I have done a full backup of the SD card and system using Sprite Backup. Neil |

Re: O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
If you already have a backup, here is what I suggest:
1. Hard-reset your device. 2. Test if your buttons are back to work. If not, go to a service center because something is bad with the hardware. 3. If buttons are working, restore your backup. If buttons are working well, fine. 4. If buttons stopped working again, something you have installed has damaged your device. Best option is to hard-reset it again and begin re-installing programs one-by-one and testing until you find the one that causes the damage. -- ---- Helio Diamant MS-MVP/Mobile Devices Editor - PocketPCFreak.com "NeilH" <n.hall@nospamvirgin.net> wrote in message news:%23cjJ7WkyIHA.4864@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > > "NeilH" <n.hall@nospamvirgin.net> wrote in message > news:ujr%23ECiyIHA.1768@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >> This is driving me crazy >> >> the buttons on my XDA have stopped working. Re: O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
Hi Neil,
Did you find a solution to the problem? I'm having the exact same problem with my phone (TYTN II). Thx, Tim "NeilH" wrote: > > "NeilH" <n.hall@nospamvirgin.net> wrote in message > news:ujr%23ECiyIHA.1768@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > > This is driving me crazy > > > > the buttons on my XDA have stopped working. Re: O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
Have you tried a soft reset?

Re: O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
I have tried a soft reset, hard reset. I have even did a ROM update to
windows mobile 6.1. None of the actions solved the problem. It's as if the "voice command" key is stuck, because if I don't disable the function of this key it keeps recording messages. I think it's a hardware error. The description of Neil is exactly the same as the problem I am having. Re: O2 XDA Stellar (Tytn II) buttons stopped working
Certainly sounds like a hardware failure, I assume you got the 6.1 update
from O2? Was it the same problem before updating? Must still be under warranty, so suggest you return it.
