Re: Unresolved Files
Hi,
Move the files to a temp folder and then synchronize small sets of files to determine the one that is causing the error message. -- Regards, Raj Pillai Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj "DesC" <DesC@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:520823D8-D49E-4CB4-B989-647B3F4D6A31@microsoft.com... > Is there a way to determine which file is the "Unresolved File" when > Acticesync is unable to sync all files? > -- > DesC |

Re: Unresolved Files
Hi Raj,
I presume you are referring to files held in the top-level folder "WM_myname My Documents". I have removed all files from this folder both on my PC and in my PDA and placed them in a temporary file on my PC but the problem with one file still exists. There are other files in subdirectories to this folder but they are all system-type files (eg, .dat files, etc) which I do not feel comfortable removing at this stage and which I believe should not be getting synchronised anyway. Any other suggestions? -- DesC "Raj Pillai" wrote: > Hi, > > Move the files to a temp folder and then synchronize small sets of files to > determine the one that is causing the error message. > > -- > Regards, > Raj Pillai > Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices > http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj > > > > "DesC" <DesC@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:520823D8-D49E-4CB4-B989-647B3F4D6A31@microsoft.com... > > Is there a way to determine which file is the "Unresolved File" when > > Acticesync is unable to sync all files? > > -- > > DesC > > |

Actually subfolders of My Documents sync as well. The problem file might be in one. While some are system files of a sort (templates for Office Mobile, etc.) they should be perfectly same to move as long as you move them back later. I'd probably move each subfolder one at a time until you find the one with the problem file(s) inside. Of course, this really shouldn't be necessary. Why Activesync and/or WMDC can't just TELL you which file(s) are unresolved is a mystery to me! |

Re: Unresolved Files
I seem to have the same problem and found some log files on my WM 6.0 device
but wonder if there are not some on the Desktop. Does anybody know where they are? The ones on the PDA are pretty much undecipherable with respect to file names or error conditions. I did note the logging of a Calendar item that had an extremely long 'Note' portion. I deleted that and for a day or so synching seemed to go OK. However, I am now back to apparent total replacement of my 'Files' with the contents on the desktop almost every time I sync. I guess I'll give moving the file folders a try. -- Brad "Raj Pillai" wrote: > Hi, > > Move the files to a temp folder and then synchronize small sets of files to > determine the one that is causing the error message.

Re: Unresolved Files
I'm having the same problem, but only when syncing to my office computer, not
my home computer. Initially activated the device on the home computer. no problems, including the files sync. Then installed ActiveSync and activated on my office computer. Problems with 19 unresolved files on the office computer. syncing more than 19 files, and all files appear to be on the office computer. how do I identify / fix this problem? Re: Unresolved Files
Hi,
Have you tried the suggestion that was posted earlier to move all files out of the sync folder to a temp folder on your computer and then synchronize small sets of files of these to determine the ones that is causing the error message? -- Regards, Raj Pillai Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj "RAB" <RAB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:20E1A508-A4BC-4E67-BEF0-F08F3B287AD9@microsoft.com... > I'm having the same problem, but only when syncing to my office computer, > not > my home computer.
