ActiveSync 4.5 - Cannot Save Settings
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me with saving my ActiveSynch
connection settings. I have no problem synching my Cingular 3125 smartphone (Windows Mobile 5) with my XP SP@ desktop running ActiveSync 4.5.0, but it will never save mychecked boxes "Allow USB Connections" and "Allow Connections to one of the following ports Com5" in Connection Settings. I am synching via Bluetooth. Everytime I launch ActiveSynch on my desktop I always need to recheck these two checkboxes (whcih I need) because it never saved it. This is such an inconvenience. Any ideas? Please help. -Andy |

Hi Andy,
>Hi Raj, Yes I have redone a partnership and no luck. I've tried so many >things and doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? funny thing that. I have the same problems on one Windows machine but on the other I don't have. Both running Windows XP Professional but the differences are: - on the machine where AS is working I am admin. - on the machine where AS is not working I am power user (no admin privieges) and there is another user account on the same machine; here AS pops up with an error message saying it cannot connect to the device every time I log into Windows and I have to reactivate USB connections. Even reinstalling AS as admin doesn't fix it. Dirk |

Re: ActiveSync 4.5 - Cannot Save Settings
Hello Dirk,
You know my problem sounds similar to yours. I actually have two PCs (home vs work) and my home PC is the one having problems with saving AS settings. I've enabled "fast switching" on my home PC where family members can quickly switch between desktops without logons. I wonder if that could be the problem? If so, perhaps Microsoft should look into this short coming.Fast switching is a feature I like for home use, so not sure I want to take it off. -Andy "Dirk Michaelsen" wrote: > Hi Andy, > > >Hi Raj, Yes I have redone a partnership and no luck. Re: ActiveSync 4.5 - Cannot Save Settings
Hi Andy,
Yes, fast switching doesn't work well with ActiveSync so that could be what is causing your issue. -- Regards, Raj Pillai Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj "Andy" <Andy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6309D462-613F-4FD5-8CCA-88476AD78445@microsoft.com... > Hello Dirk, > You know my problem sounds similar to yours.
