ActiveSync via Bluetooth
Have any of you folks ever gotten a Windows Mobile device to ActiveSync with a
PC using Bluetooth? I have a laptop with BT built in. I can get it to connect to a Nokia mobile phone, I could get it to see a BT enabled PDA but I could not get ActiveSync to see the PDA, no matter what I tried. The PDA could also see the laptop but I could never get the two to connect and establish an ActiveSync session. If there are any secret ways of accomplishing this feat then I'm all ears (well, eyes as this is a newsgroup). |

Go into Activesync on the desktop and set it to use a serial port in the "Connections" menu, and select whatever virtual COM port the assigns to the BT hardware. Then set the PC to discoverable mode, and discover it from the device, (not the other way around!) Then when you search for available services on the discovered PC, "Activesync" should be available. |

Re: ActiveSync via Bluetooth
I had the same issue, and this solution got me close but not quite there. I
discovered there's one other step you need to do. On your computer go to Control Panel / Bluetooth Devices, then click the COM Ports tab. Click Add, make sure Incoming is selected, and then click OK. The system will create a COM port which is necessary for ActiveSync to communicate over. Open ActiveSync, go to File / Connection Settings, check the box that says Allow Connections to one of the following, and select the COM port number you created from the Bluetooth configuration. Then, on your phone, go to Bluetooth Settings, COM Ports, and do a New Outgoing Port. Select the same COM port number that you've been using for Bluetooth. The option to add a port isn't available until you've paired the devices. Like the previous responder said, if you refresh the services available on the paired device, ActiveSync should show up. It just didn't show up for me until I created the COM port. I'm finally syncing via bluetooth! |

I'll post a followup on the results. |
