What would make Activesync 4.5 with a windows mobile 6 PPC (UTC
Starcom XV6900 update so slowly. The computer hardware is the same.
I had a Windows 2003 Ipaq 2755.

I have Outlook 2002 (XP) on both an XP computer and a Vista Computer.
I just downloaded Activesync 4.5 on the XP and synced the Starcom
XV6900 PPC. It took forever (about 1/2 hour at least). Now, I have
about 4000 contacts, but it never took over 5 minutes to update them
all before with an IPAQ 2755 and an older version of Activesync
(forget the version). Same computer hardware.

That's just the way it is. I suspect the majority of the issue is the
persistent flash memory used in WM5/6 devices vs. the much faster battery-
backed RAM in PPC2k-2003.
Flashis slower, but doesn't get erased when the device's batteries go flat.

Annoying, but not abnormal...

6.1 is faster
