GO Daddy UC Certificate
I just purchased a UC Certificate from Go Daddy to replace a single name
certificate from Thawte. My WM6 clients have no problem using this new certificate, but my WM5 clients can not connect to the Exchange server. They receive an invalid certificate error. I know that WM5 clients can not use a wild card certificate, but I am wondering if WM5 clients can use a UC Certificate? |

Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate
As I understand it, WM5 does not support a UC certificate. You must have a
6.x device or higher. -- Clinton Fitch, MVP-Mobile Devices Clinton Fitch (Dot) Com! & HPC:Factor http://www.clintonfitch.com http://www.hpcfactor.com "RichWhit" <RichWhit@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0D1A3D02-1C43-4065-9748-50FB7ED7292F@microsoft.com... >I just purchased a UC Certificate from Go Daddy to replace a single name > certificate from Thawte. Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate
Hi,
The UC cert is not installed by default on Windows Mobile 5.0. You can install the cert and the clients will be able to sync. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Clinton Fitch, MVP-Mobile Devices" <management@justsaynot2spammingclintonfitch.com> wrote in message news:u3hcg3K3IHA.4036@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > As I understand it, WM5 does not support a UC certificate. Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate
Chris,
So the cert will work on 5.0? For some reason I thought it was only a 6.x "feature" Clinton "Chris De Herrera" <spam@pocketpctalk.com> wrote in message news:uw47mPy3IHA.4500@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Hi, > The UC cert is not installed by default on Windows Mobile 5.0. Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate
Hi,
The issue is that starting with Windows Mobile 6, Microsoft installed a new root certificate to support all GO Daddy certficates. So a workaround for Windows Mobile 5.0 and earlier devices is to install the cert on the device. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Clinton Fitch, MVP-Mobile Devices" <management@justsaynot2spammingclintonfitch.com> wrote in message news:eh6IxZD4IHA.4448@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Chris, > > So the cert will work on 5.0?
