Using Activesync with Picasa

Hello,

Is there an easy way to import photos from my HTC3300 to Picasa?

At the moment the only way I can do it is to browse to the images folder on
the HTC (six clicks) and then drag them to My Pictures on the PC. This is a
bit tedious to do regularly.

Picasa does not "see" the HTC on its import function unfortunately.

Ideally I would like to have the same functionality as WMDC in Vista - ie
just plug in the HTC and it immediately recognises new photos, and asks to
import them. Can this be done on ActiveSync?

Actually I've just discovered Microsoft Live Photogallery - which I prefer
to Picasa - but there seems no way to import via ActiveSync with that
either!!!

Hi,

I don't think the import functionality you are looking for is possible with
ActiveSync. Are you saving these files on the main memory or SD Card?

The files are saved on an SD Card. It is rather tedious having to browse
through the (oddly-organised)file system of a PPC to find the photos, then
transfer them to the PC.

I used WMDC on Vista for a while before reinstalling XP. WMDC is about the
only Vista feature that I miss, because it automatically detected new photos
on the PPC.

Hi,

Not sure but you should be able to configure the folder where it stores the
images if you feel the path is too long for your convenience. Other option
is to use a SD Card reader instead as Picasa shouldn't have issues reading
it then when you use Import functionality or you can consider 3rd party
software like Mobsync which will synchronize a selected folder on the
device/sd card to your PC during synchronization.

Re: Using Activesync with Picasa

Just to add some more information - Check the camera settings and you should
find an option called Storage where you should be able to configure the
folder where images are stored.

Re: Using Activesync with Picasa

Thanks for the suggestions, but I already have the pictures stored at the
root of the internal SD Card, ane even that is tedious to browse to because
of the illogical way folders are organised in WM5 machines. Taking SD Card
out is really fiddly on HTC3300 - it is buried under the SIM card, which is
buried under the battery. I hope Microsoft will release WMDC for XP - WMDC
was about the only feature I liked on Vista!
