Can't Sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts
Hi All,
I have an HP 210 pda and I am having problems properly syncing it with Outlook 2003. When I sync the device, most of my calendar and contact items do not copy over to it. I do not receive any error messages. I notice that ActiveSync sees the correct number of items (such as 0/73 appointments) but immediately displays a check mark as if all of the items were synced. Some items simply do not copy over. I have tried the following so far in seemingly infinite combinations: Deleted relationship in ActiveSync on pc. Deleted relationship in ActiveSync on pda. Soft reset pda. Hard reset pda. Detect and Repair Outloook 2003. Complete Uninstall/Reinstall Office 2003. Upgrade to Office 2007. Created new PST and copied items from old PST. Created new PST and imported items from old PST. As far as I can tell, items in my calendar and contacts that are not manually entered WILL NOT sync - ever. Even opening a contact, updating a field and saving the contact does not work. Contacts are not as big of a deal-breaker as most of my contacts I can manually recreate anyway. However, my primary calendar is Google Calendar and I use Google Calendar Sync to keep Outlook up-to-date which I then sync to my phone and pda. Anyone out there have this problem or a solution? Please remember that as far as ActiveSync is concerned, there are no errors and the sync is always successful. Any help is greatly appreciated! Regards, Tom |

Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts
Hi,
Did you try running scanpst to check the PST file? Are the Calendar and Contacts folder the default for the Outlook profile? Try creating another calendar and contacts folder and move the items to the folders. Then sync and then move them back until you find the items that won't sync. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "PaladinTom" <paladintom@gmail.com> wrote in message news:18c85ec6-e5c9-47ab-9478-fa4e25745e98@k13g2000hse.googlegroups.com... > Hi All, > > I have an HP 210 pda and I am having problems properly syncing it with > Outlook 2003. > > When I sync the device, most of my calendar and contact items do not > copy over to it. Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts
I tried the Inbox Repair Tool and although it found and fixed problems
- it did not fix my issue. I already tried moving the items one at a time but none of them will sync. I compared every single field in a contact that syncs (one I create now from scratch) and a contact that doesn't but I cannot see a difference. Thanks for the help Chris. Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts
Hi,
Try this: 1. Export the PST data. 2. Create a new PST. 3. Set the new PST as the default 4. Sync - you will see all the data removed from the device. 5. Import the PST data. 6. Sync. All the data should be synchronized. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "PaladinTom" <paladintom@gmail.com> wrote in message news:bb557b36-afe1-435a-8bf3-11fb952afa5b@c65g2000hsa.googlegroups.com... >I tried the Inbox Repair Tool and although it found and fixed problems > - it did not fix my issue. > > I already tried moving the items one at a time but none of them will > sync. Re: Can't Sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts
I have the same problem as Tom. None of me Calendar, Contacts or Tasks are
syncing. None. Not even one. AS sees the correct number of the items on my PC (e.g. 0/50 contacts), but then immediately ticks them off as synced. Nothing is transferred to the device. I tried moving all my contacts to a different folder, then in the default Contacts folder under my mailbox creting a new contact from scratch. It is not transferred. I i create a contact on the device, during sync an empty contact is created in Outlook. On the next sync another empty one is created and so on. After 10 sync attempts, I end up with 10 empty contacts in Outlook and the contacts in the Outlook are not transferred to the device. Please help! I am using Outlook 2003 SP2 with my mailbox on an Exchange 2003 server (and NOT in a local PST file).
