WMDC - endless Sync for Notes/Files
I'm using WMDC (Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1), and Office 2007.
I had to delete the partnership between the PC and my Pocket PC (T-Mobile MDA Vario III) because it would never complete the Sync for Notes and Folders. Everything else was fine. When establishing a new partnership it Sync's the notes and folders fine the first time, but when syncing for the second and subsequent times, WMDC shows the Sync is looping through the notes, 0 to 31 items completed, then files, 0 to 31 items completed, then back to notes then files and so on. How do I prevent this from happening? Contacts, calendars and tasks are sync'd through an Exchange account. I wish the notes could be too! Thanks for any help. Mike

So far Microsoft has chosen not to support notes synchronization with Exchange ActiveSync. I do not know if or when they will add this support. At this point what you see is how they designed it to work. Try creating another Notes folder, move the items there and then try and sync. Then move them back and see which notes won't sync. Thanks... have tried that more than once. My notes are all short (wasn't
aware you could attach files to them). Prior to WMDC, mail/contacts/tasks worked fine with Exchange, and Notes would quickly sync with Outlook on my PC. Really wish you could use ActiveSync with Vista... The only other culprit could be a problem with the PST file. Try running scanpst.exe to fix it. Thanks again. Actually, I started with Vista Ultimate 64-bit and had all
sorts of WMDC issues, including the one in this topic. I reformatted my hard drive and installed Vista Business 32-bit instead, added my Exchange settings to Outlook and started with a completely new PST file. Same issues returned. I've pretty much given up. It shouldn't be this involved. It's now syncing fine. No looping through notes and files. I have no idea why. I suspect the problem will come and go.
