How do I get direct push to work on WM6.1 and Exchange Server 2003
I have Activesync set up on Exchange Server 2003, and I also have the option
of synchronizing "as items arrive" on my phone. However, when I use that option, it seems to sync every 8 minutes instead of when items arrive. This person has the exact same problem: http://www.technologyquestions.com/t...ckjack-ii.html The synchronization works fine if I choose preset intervals. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks! |

Re: How do I get direct push to work on WM6.1 and Exchange Server 2003
Hi,
The option to sync "as items arrive" is the push e-mail. Does your Exchange 2003 server have SP2 installed? This is the release that added support for push e-mail. Also, the administrator may need to adjust the firewall timeout so that your mobile device can stay connected for an extended period of time. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Dwong" <Dwong@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:61769A94-A7A8-43C7-BCF8-6AD182334EF1@microsoft.com... >I have Activesync set up on Exchange Server 2003, and I also have the >option > of synchronizing "as items arrive" on my phone. Hi,
My Exchange 2003 server does have SP2 installed. Also, we don't have a firewall running on the server. "Chris De Herrera" wrote: > Hi, > The option to sync "as items arrive" is the push e-mail. Re: How do I get direct push to work on WM6.1 and Exchange Server
Hi,
Do you have a firewall running between the Exchange server and the internet? Most companies do to protect their network. This firewall would have to be adjusted. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Dwong" <Dwong@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4F3ECB65-CB66-4996-8AD5-90C0D2C83F84@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > My Exchange 2003 server does have SP2 installed. Re: How do I get direct push to work on WM6.1 and Exchange Server
I'm trying to get Direct Push work on our new SBS 2003 R2 Premium network. I
was able to create a self-signed certificate and install it on a BlackJack II, but I am unable to sync with Exchange 2003. What type of changes must be made in IIS to allow the communication. You mentioned the timeout. Where is that setting stored? Thanks for your help. I'm a part time IT full-time architect so this is fairly new. Just completed a successful swing migration from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003 on new hardware and I'm excited to use some of these new features. Re: How do I get direct push to work on WM6.1 and Exchange Server
Got it working. I think it had to do with that fact that I didn't have the
self-signed certificate installed for the IMAP4 protocol. One question, right now, I don't have the SSL option checked. I'm going to see if it still works if I check that.
