Major Problems
Hi,
I have 2 questions.......... First... I am using a Dell Axim X51v. I installed the software that was on the disk and because Outlook 2003 was on there, it did something to my Outlook 2007. I can't find it anymore. Outlook came with my laptop, so I do not have any disks that I can replace it with. Any suggestions? 2nd question....... For about a week, everything was working fine. Everything was syncing. Now, everytime I try and sync, I get the error message - windows\system32\act9ext.dll could not be installed or loaded. There is now no sync between my pda and my computer. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks! Kellie -- www.PagesofaLifetime.com |

Re: Major Problems
Hi,
If your Axim shipped with Outlook 2003, it probably uninstalled Outlook 2007 and replaced it. I would contact the manufacturer of the laptop about getting a cd so you can reinstall Office. There are diferences between the OEM version and the version you can purchase at the store so the key must match the version type. Do you have Act installed on this PC? Then this is the cause of the problem. This DLL is an add-on for Outlook. So you may have to disable it or reinstall Act. I assume, if the laptop came with Ofice 2k7, the images of the disks are in a "recovery" partition on your hard disk, so the "Repair" function of Office should work, as should a reinstall. > 2nd question....... > > For about a week, everything was working fine. Apparently it sometimes sticks around even after uninstalling Act. A quick Google search came up with this: http://help.lockergnome.com/office/r...e-Outlook-Add- ftopict996422.html, which suggests: "Go to 'Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|Add-in Manager' and see if you have the Act! add-in listed. If it is, uncheck its checkbox; this will prevent Outlook from trying to use it and should eliminate the error message." Good luck! |
