What files / registry keys are used by ActiveSync?
I've been having problems synchronizing my WM5 PPC with an Exchange server
(over the air) - it started to get hung during calendar sync. But I've discovered that if I hard re-set and sync before restoring my system, everything works. So, there's something in my restore set that messes up ActiveSync. I've tried blanking out the calendar database and that doesn't help - it must be something else. I've also tried not restoring the files in \Windows\ActiveSync on my device, and one time I did it, it worked perfectly. The next time I restored this way, it did not. So I'm a bit confused but I think there must be other files (or registry keys?) in my backup saveset that are messing up ActiveSync on the device. So, does anyone have a complete list of the files and registry keys that are relevant to activesync on the PPC side? There must be other state files and who-knows-what and perhaps I can avoid restoring them from my set. Mike |

Re: What files / registry keys are used by ActiveSync?
Hi,
Microsoft has never disclosed the registry keys that ActiveSync uses to store the settings. Did you try deleting the ActiveSync settings to sync with Exchange and re-enter them? -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Michael Levin" <mlevin666@gmail.com> wrote in message news:C3CB1FFB.6473D%mlevin666@gmail.com... > I've been having problems synchronizing my WM5 PPC with an Exchange server > (over the air) - it started to get hung during calendar sync. There's something in my restore set that causes this :-( |

Re: What files / registry keys are used by ActiveSync?
Hi,
Well there is no support for performing a restore with Windows Mobile 5 or 6. I suggest you sync from scratch with the PC instead of performing a restore. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "Michael Levin" <mlevin666@gmail.com> wrote in message news:C3CD1ABC.647FE%mlevin666@gmail.com... > On 2/3/08 9:57 PM, in article OgA$gmtZIHA.504@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl, "Chris > De Herrera" <spam@pocketpctalk.com> wrote: > >> Hi, >> Microsoft has never disclosed the registry keys that ActiveSync uses to >> store the settings.
