PPT presenter view

I am running a ppt show with some video. I use presenter view and can see the
slides on the 2nd monitor but it will not play video on sound.. The video
will play on the laptop in normal mode and if I replicate the desktop to the
2nd monitor (ie not using presenter view) the video will show OK.

Can anyone help please?

RE: PPT presenter view

Hi Vindys
I am using a laptop and using the video port. If use this port for normal
projector/2nd screen use and the video shows ok. It is only when I use
presenter view with ppt that the sound plays but no video on the second
screen/projector. I have a second laptop - same make different model and this
facility functions OK.

RE: PPT presenter view

Hi Vindys

Many thanks for these. They are great articles. However I still cannot get
the video to play. I can see the slides on the second monitor and they
advance normally. Its just when there is a slide with video inserted that I
only get sound. If I replicate the desk top the video plays ok again. It j

RE: PPT presenter view

I don't know if this will work in '07 but in other versions if you make the
Presentation screen the main screen and your laptop the secondary screen.
When the video plays it will show on the presentation screen but not the
laptop. When you are not connected to the secondary screen you will not
notice any difference. While this may not be what you had hoped for it allows
your audience to see the video.

good luck

RE: PPT presenter view

Hi Bill

Thanks for the suggestion. The challenge is that I wish to use the presenter
view for the slide notes so the 2 screens show different views and if I
switch the screens the audience will see the notes.

Kind regards

Paul

does your video card has an own program to control the first/second monitor?
You should find it in "Windows-Start / control panel / view" on something
like "extended" (I have a German Window and can only guess the English
names).

Most times the video will only play on the first monitor, but maybe you can
find some options to switch the video-output to the second one.

Sometimes it can be a help to turn down the hardware-acceleration for video.

Re: PPT presenter view

Hi Pia

Many thanks for your help. The video card does have controls for both
monitors. If I clone the desktop I can get video on the laptop and second
monitor with no problem. Its just when I use presenter view that it does not
show video on the 2nd screen although I see the slides OK.

Many thanks - Paul

Have you tried to turn the hardware-acceleration for video down?
