Re: Slide Master 2003 > Slide Master 2007

I'm having the same problems described in this discussion - specifically I'm
trying to edit footers (text) in slide masters created in PPT2003 but which I
just can't access in PPT2007. Graphics are okay; text boxes just remain
frustratingly inaccessible. I want to edit the presentations, not create
whole new ones, but I just can't get rid of, or change, the text in the
footers. Any simple solutions out there?

Re: Slide Master 2003 > Slide Master 2007

Headers and footers are different than the graphics on masters/layouts. Try
Insert | Header and Footer. Can you change the text there?

Re: Slide Master 2003 > Slide Master 2007

Thanks for the suggestion but no, it doesn't work. Clicking footer brings up
a text box at the bottom of the slide that I could already access but I still
can't get into the one on the bottom left. This applies in several different
presentations.

Re: Slide Master 2003 > Slide Master 2007

The headers and footers placeholders (Date, Footer, Slide Number) should be
selectable from the slide master (big thumbnail in Master View) and also on
the individual slide layouts (little thumbnail in Master View). The one on
the left by default is the date, but I can't think of why it wouldn't be
selectable.

If you want to email me a few slides from a presentation that exhibits this
problem, I'm happy to take a look. Mail to echos at indy dot net Please
include the text of these posts so I know what it is I'm looking at. Please
also don't send me megs and megs of files. Just a few slides that
demonstrate the issue should be plenty. Thanks.
