Embedded XL sheets, removing excess tabs

Hey all,

Our PPT presentations use embedded XL sheets for charts and tables.
These XL sheets are created in XL first and then copy and pasted into
PPT. When they are copy and pasted into PPT the entire XL workbook
is pasted into the embedded XL sheet in PPT which makes the size of the
PPT really huge. I have a couple of questions on how to alleviate this?

1) Is there a way when copying an XL tab to PPT to copy only the tab that
is being used and not the entire XL workbook?

2) For our existing PPT decks we would like to remove all tabs from the
embedded XL sheet except for the one being used. Has anyone seen/written
a macro that will remove all tabs from an embedded XL sheet in PPT except
for the selected tab? This can be done manually but some of these PPT
decks are huge and could take 3 or 4 hours to remove excess tabs manually.

3) Is there a way to save the PPT deck so that all the charts become
pictures instead of embedded XL sheets? This would reduce the size of
the deck while still allowing us to edit bullet points and text not
directly associated with the charts/tables.

Thanks in advance,

Lance

RnR Optimizer will do #3. http://www.pptools.com Just run it and click the
"ungroup excel sheets" (or maybe the "ungroup charts/graphs" or "OLE
Objects") option.

Indirectly, yes. Copy just the info you want to another workbook then copy
from it to PPT.
