Audio is not sync'd with video in Powerpoint

i have successfully embedded a .avi video clip into Powerpoint. I had to
upgrade to Office 2007 to do it, but the video is there!

Unfortunately there is approximately a seven second delay between the video
track and the audio track. I have tried to reduce all the hardware
acceleration setting, but to no avail.

i need this fixed for a presentation that I am making tomorrow
afternoon...Any timely assistance would be greatly appreciated.
