List of feature requests.
I didn't see any of these in this forum. I'm sure they've been asked for
before. I'm using 2003, so forgive me if any of these have been already fixed. 1. Allow the Name of the task to be placed AFTER the task bar, after the finish date. (similar to suretrack) This allows for all the data to be displayed on a thinnner row. 2. Allow the row height to be adjusted and become default height. 3. Allow the text to wrap around and row height auto adjust to the wrap around (with less clearance then currently used) 4. Allow the user to adjust the indent space. Only the distance of the - or + should be indented. Also less clearance between the -/+ and the task name. 5. On hover, display a bubble (windows standard) for the task name if text wrap isn't used. This allow the user to see the hidden text. 6. Instead of using a display filter then printing, create a print matrix. Print with the following * Heading Levels[2] * tasks Levels[2] * Date * task name (You get the idea) Optional 7. Auto column reduction. Autosize row to smallest size. This and row height let the user reduce the reports to the samlles size possible while still legible. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Re: List of feature requests.
Hi c_robertson,
Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup ![]() First, Microsoft don't often appear in these newsgroups, so I would suggest you provide feedback via their Project site. Some answers in line. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on ![]() Mike Glen MS Project MVP See http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc for Project Tutorials "c_robertson" <crobertson@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3B3E88F9-C27B-4F18-8286-B096CE8683AD@microsoft.com... >I didn't see any of these in this forum. [Mike] This facility has been available in every version since Project 4. Try Format/BarStyles and click on the Text tab. > 2. Allow the row height to be adjusted and become default height. [Mike] Again this has been possible for several versions. 2003 allows you to drag a single row divider in the ID column to adjust the height. The default height is based on the font sizes you've chosen to use. > 3. Allow the text to wrap around and row height auto adjust to the wrap > around (with less clearance then currently used) [Mike] I'm not quite sure what you want here as text wrapping occurrs when you adjust the row height. The clearance is again based on the font size you choose. > 4. Allow the user to adjust the indent space. Only the distance of the - > or > + should be indented. Also less clearance between the -/+ and the task > name. [Mike] This is not changeable, however you can hide the +- via Tool/Options//View tab and deselect Show outline symbol. > 5. On hover, display a bubble (windows standard) for the task name if text > wrap isn't used. This allow the user to see the hidden text. [Mike] That's an idea, though if you click on the task the full text appears in the edit bar immediately above the column headings. > 6. Instead of using a display filter then printing, create a print matrix. > Print with the following > * Heading Levels[2] > * tasks Levels[2] > * Date > * task name > (You get the idea) Optional [Mike] No, I don't get this idea ![]() > 7. Auto column reduction. Autosize row to smallest size. This and row > height > let the user reduce the reports to the samlles size possible while still > legible. [Mike] As before, row height has a minimum size based on the font size. Try font size of 4 and you'll get many more tasks on the page, though I don't suppose you'll be able to read them ![]() > ---------------- > This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the > suggestions with the most votes.
