impact of milestones on resource levelling / scheduling
What differences (other than the obvious display difference) are there
between the ordinary tasks and tasks flagged as milestones? In particular, is there a difference in teh way project resource levelling and schduling for them? |

Re: impact of milestones on resource levelling / scheduling
Hi, Simply put, no. They are handled as any other task. But when they have a zero duration, hence no work, they won't be leveled of course. Re: impact of milestones on resource levelling / scheduling
And adding to Jan's comment, since milestones have no duration and thus no
work, they shouldn't have resources assigned to them either, thus "leveling" a milestone to resolve resource overallocations makes no sense. A milestone's location in the schedule is solely and completely determined by the scheduling of its predecessor tasks. -- Steve House [Project MVP] MS Project Trainer & Consultant Visit http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm for the FAQs "JoGo" <JoGo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:31798729-9795-4628-98DC-CE26AC51EF9A@microsoft.com... > What differences (other than the obvious display difference) are there > between the ordinary tasks and tasks flagged as milestones? > > In particular, is there a difference in teh way project resource levelling > and schduling for them? |
