Insert a project into a template-- NEWBIE
Hi:not to make anyone crazy, but I am trying to understand what the benefits
are of inserting or importing an existing project into a newly designed template. My "wish" would be that the template information gets transposed into the existing project. What are the steps to insert or import in MS Project Pro 2007 MS Project Server 2007. I will be updating over 200 project plans using the new template. Would it be wiser to teach the PMs how to insert their projects into the template? I know this sounds crazy, but I have been asked to do this. (8 billion dollar project...huge) -- Lily |

Re: Insert a project into a template-- NEWBIE
You haven't said what it is that you are using the template to store.
Let's say it is not the WBS Headings and sub-headings, Tasks and Milestones, which are all in the other project files. Your template contains what? Formatting, Views, Tables, Fields, Calendars, Filters, Groups? Resources? Why not just copy all of the Tasks from the other files and paste them into the template?
