Exporting to Excel and Maintining Task Hierarchy / Font Formatting

I have a project plan that I need to send to folks who do not have MS
Project. They want it in Excel format but when I export all of the
tasks, the result is an unformatted Excel worksheet. It's really
difficult to see summary tasks, etc. this way.

Also, it would be nice if the export to Excel included the calculated
fields, e.g. the Summary Tasks, Dates. . .

Re: Exporting to Excel and Maintining Task Hierarchy / Font Formatting

Hello seven-percent,

Fellow MVP Jack Dahlgren has kindly made a sample macro available
which exports the task hierarchy. See:

http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm

and look for the Export hierarchy to Excel macro.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Re: Exporting to Excel and Maintining Task Hierarchy / Font Formatting

If you have version prior to Project 2007 try saving the project as a web
page and opening the corresponding .html file in Excel. Looks a bit
better...
