Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Do you mean you have your text justified and the last line is spread?
Turn on special characters ( ¶ ) to see what formatting is applied. Could be an errant tab or a shift+enter. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "pfelton" <pfelton@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:094E1D06-73DB-4CA6-ADAE-7E05DB03CE99@microsoft.com... > Publisher 2003 -this is very distracting to the reader |

Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Guess I phrased it poorly, the white space is between the lines of text for
the last line. It looks like 1.5 line spacing compaired to the rest of the paragraph. Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Did you get any clue when you turned on the special characters?
Have you tried the baseline guides? You can turn them on in View menu. In the Format menu, Paragraph, Indents and Spacing tab, check *Align text to baseline guides*. While you are in this dialogue, be certain line spacing is zero before & after paragraphs. You might high-light the last couple of lines of your paragraph, go to the paragraph formatting and check to see if it is 1sp. Take a look at the font settings too while your text is high-lighted, it could be a word or a letter or a symbol maybe of a different font size. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "pfelton" <pfelton@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:830E805F-2D1F-42F5-85BC-A9D9A75E838D@microsoft.com... > Guess I phrased it poorly, the white space is between the lines of text for > the last line. Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Thanks so much! Changing the paragraphs to 0 did it! It is not logical for
the way it was adding extra height before the last line of the paragraph but that is the trick to making our publications look much better! Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Thanks Ed, I'm operating with Pub 2003 (11.8212.8221) SP3 and I am not able
to resolve this issue with the suggestions above. Is there a bug fix I missed? Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Did you look at the paragraph settings to be sure you have 0pt before and after
the paragraph? Have you used a shift+enter before the last line? Turn on Special Characters ( ¶ ), maybe you'll get a clue. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Bobtarrel" <Bobtarrel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:66DA4AC7-AE24-456F-AD24-F15E77DE2B5F@microsoft.com... > Thanks Ed, I'm operating with Pub 2003 (11.8212.8221) SP3 and I am not able > to resolve this issue with the suggestions above. Re: Last line in most paragraphs has larger line spacing
Thank you Mary,
Changing the before and after setting affects the whole para, not just the last line. I want 2pt before for this para. However, using 0pt doesn't correct the last line. There is nothing ahead of hte last line - it is wrapped. Changing the width and, therefore, the first words of the last line does not solve the problem. Special characters did not reveal anything unusual. I've had this problem for years, but have always been able to find some cludge. This time, nothing works. But this is the first time I've done the newsletter with Vista. Maybe Pub 2003 doesn't like Vista?
