VISIO 2002 Wants REACTIVATION?

I am not sure why all of sudden VISIO 2002 thinks it has not been activated.
I know there was a security update in April 2008 but I didn't receive
"ACTIVATION" message before. I hate to go and restore my ACRONIS drive
image from last month to siolve this. Why would VISIO 2002 PRO ask for
"ACTIVATION" ????

RE: VISIO 2002 Wants REACTIVATION?

Re-activation might be triggered by system changes (CPU, Memory, new disk
drive, etc.). Since you have already activated, it should be a formality -
just click Activate. If there is any 'push back' from the activation
process, you can go through phone activation.

Re: VISIO 2002 Wants REACTIVATION?

Hi Barb:

Thank you for your advise!

This is a laptop and no hardware changes were made (just USB drivers updated
from Datapilot for my Cellphone). When I updated Datapilot it crashed, and
this is what I believe triggered the "RE-ACTIVATION" request.

I restored an ACRONIS image from February and updated all my software
packages again including Datapilot (Successfully this time but what a pain).
I then installed all Microsoft updates (except IE7 and SPK3) and the VISIO
security update. All is well now, but I hate when this happens. I had it
happen one other time when a video driver install went wrong.

One of the great reasons to keep an ACRONIS Image.
