Replacing a DC
I need to replace a DC. I would like to get some feedback, before I get
started. Currently the network has a SBS2003 as DC with no othe rmember servers. I need to replace that with a machine running Windows Server 2003 R2. I am considering the following: 1. Join the new server to the network and promote it to BDC. (Im still not sure this is possible with SBS, since SBS wants to be the only DC on a network.) 2. Decommision the SBS, and allow it to transfer the all the roles and Global Catalog to the new server. ....Will this work? If not whats the best path for this when SBS is part of the picture? Thanks! Re: Replacing a DC
You might want to ask this in one of the SBS groups. Not sure it will work.
If not use ADMT. hth DDS "SeriousSam" <SeriousSam@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2B79FA7A-271D-424B-B4FF-1976D9C99D1F@microsoft.com... >I need to replace a DC.
