GPO

I created a TempTestou where I have my test machine sitting and created a GPO
named test for desktop and it is not working. I configured settings under
user configuration ->Administrative Templete ->Desktop and applied. How do I
link the test gpo to the machine which is under my Temp Testou.

Thanks!

user settings apply to the user. Is the user object in the same OU as your
policy is linked?

RE: GPO

It is this machine in my Temp Testou to which I am trying to apply this
policy to.
Means any user login to this machine the policy setting should apply to: not
to be able to change desktop or not to be able to delete my docs folder from
desktop etc.

Re: GPO

User configuration applies to users.
Computer configuration applies to computers.

One exception (in 2003). You can put a User configuration on an OU with
a terminal server in it, and the user configuration will apply to the
users on the terminal server, albeit the users are not in that OU. But,
this is _only_ for terminal servers. For workstations etc, user
configuration will only apply when user is in the OU's the user
configuration applies to.

So simply put, putting a user configuration GPO on an OU with only
workstations in it, will do nothing.
