A few times cisvc.exe is taking 100% CPU and I am not able to identify the exact problem. I am very much new to this Servoces/performance/Monitoring concepts. I want to know what is the reason for this High CPU Utilization!! Could you please help me out in this regard? ----------------------- Thanks & Regards, Vijay Saradhy |

Re: cisvc.exe is taking 100% CPU
Hi,
It is running until we are stopping the "Cisvc.exe" process by going into the Task Manager. As of my knowledge, we ar not using any indexing concepts. We want to know which task is using this service?? As informed earlier, we are using MS SQL Server 2005 and mySQL Server 5.0. Do these softwares have any default indexing tasks? ---------------- Thanks & Regards, Vijay Saradhy "Meinolf Weber" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message news:ff16fb66967158ca6cfa622b1ea9@msnews.microsoft .com... > Hello Vijay, > > It is used form the indexing service and runs normally if the server is > not busy. > > Best regards > > Meinolf Weber > Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and > confers no rights. > ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > >> cisvc.exe >> > > |

Re: cisvc.exe is taking 100% CPU
We have checked services.msc.
The "Startup Type" is set to "Automatic". We could disable the service. But before disbaling/stopping the service, we want to know where exatly is indesing taking place. If there is any indexing is running in the Databases, what would be result if we abruptly stop this service? If indexing is not running in the Databases, where is the indexing running and why it is running. Does indexing of the files/data is done automatically, by default? These are the question flashing to my mind!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------ Thanks & Regards, Vijay "Meinolf Weber" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message news:ff16fb669676d8ca6d225b7ac019@msnews.microsoft .com... > Hello Vijay, > > It is a basic windows service, check it under services.msc, Indexing > service > > Best regards > > Meinolf Weber > Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and > confers no rights. > ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > >> Hi, >> >> It is running until we are stopping the "Cisvc.exe" process by going >> into >> the Task Manager. >> As of my knowledge, we ar not using any indexing concepts. >> We want to know which task is using this service?? >> As informed earlier, we are using MS SQL Server 2005 and mySQL Server >> 5.0. >> Do these softwares have any default indexing tasks? >> ---------------- >> Thanks & Regards, >> Vijay Saradhy >> "Meinolf Weber" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message >> news:ff16fb66967158ca6cfa622b1ea9@msnews.microsoft .com... >> >>> Hello Vijay, >>> >>> It is used form the indexing service and runs normally if the server >>> is not busy. >>> >>> Best regards >>> >>> Meinolf Weber >>> Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and >>> confers no rights. >>> ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups >>> ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm >>>> cisvc.exe >>>> > > |
