using Dcom for VPN

Hi,

We have a database hosted in our Uk office which uses DCOM to
communicate between server and client.

I want to allow users from our US office to use the database, so what ports
would need to be enabled on the firewalls and how would i setup the DCOM at
both ends. Also is there anything that needs to be changed on the server.

I have never dealt with DCOM so pls bear with me.
