Server Hangs

Greetings,

My Win2K3 SP1 domain controller locks up every day and I have not been able
to find a reason for the lock-up. The Event Viewer shows no errors and no
STOP errors are generated. The controller simply does not respond to
keyboard, mouse, or network communication, requiring a reset to bring it
back up. When it does reboot, there is no indication that anything went
wrong. This started occurring shortly after I implemented a software mirror
on my C:\ drive (boot drive). In fact, after rebooting, the mirror always
resynchs. Could it be that there is an issue with the software mirror?
Short of breaking the mirror, are there any diagnostics that I could run?
If the mirror is the cause, what could be leading up to the lock up? Could
a bad drive in the mirror array (there are two) cause a lock-up?

The computer is not overheating and there are no exclamation points in the
Device Manager display. After rebooting, the mirror resynchs without error
and the system hums along fine until the next lock-up. No dump files are
generated. Are there any monitoring tools that I can run to audit the
machine activity so that I could review a log file after rebooting from a
lock-up?

Please - any help is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I would first break the mirror and see if the problem resolves itself...

Re: Server Hangs

we had a same kind of problem once and it was caused by old firmware from the
array controler
