How to backup network printers
Hi All,
I'm trying to find a way to backup and restore the network printer settings for a server I have to reinstall. I found PrintMig from MS but it seems it backup\restore only the settings for local printers and not for network ones. Does anybody have an idea about that? Thank you very much |

You may be getting confused by the fact that when you open it, it's focused on the local computer, NOT local printers. hth DDS "T_M_P" <claudio.toldi@gmail.com> wrote in message news:755c8624-5be2-49a2-ac0b-baad8333df70@59g2000hsb.googlegroups.com... > Hi All, > > I'm trying to find a way to backup and restore the network printer > settings for a server I have to reinstall. > > I found PrintMig from MS but it seems it backup\restore only the > settings for local printers and not for network ones. > > Does anybody have an idea about that? > > Thank you very much |

When I open printmig, it shows me Printer (0) and even if I try backup \restore (deleting some printers connected) it doesn't work. Thanks |

Sorry, I think I forgot a pass: the server is not the printer server,

Re: How to backup network printers
Now I'm totally lost. From your first post:
"I'm trying to find a way to backup and restore the network printer settings for a server I have to reinstall." I took this to mean that you have to reinstall a print server and you wanted to backup the printers. Then this post: "Sorry but I don't understand your message: I don't need to recover the print server but the "client" server on wich the printer are connected.." Printers are "connected" to print servers. Print server Clients connect to the Print server to use the printers. I have no Idea what a "client server" is in context to printing. That's why I told you "connected"). I need, when the server will be reinstalled, to recover all the printers this user has.. |

Do you think this could solve my problem? |

Re: How to backup network printers
I'm not sure what you are talking about.
"(right click on the printer queue from Server-B, connect... That's" This is on server B. Can you detail the steps you take to get to "right click on printer queue"?
