How to update Win2K3 R1 to R2

Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to update a file server with win2K3 R1
to Win2K3 R2 in order to have a full DFS compatibilty

If yes are there some traps ?

Re: How to update Win2K3 R1 to R2

After you run adprep from the second disk of the R2 set, on the schema
master for your domain, you should be able to run setup 2 from the second
disk of the R2 set and install the updated features.

The first disk of the R2 set is Windows 2003 either SP1 or SP2. You will get
errors trying to run the R2 install, from an R2 set with SP 2, on a Win 2k3
SP1 computer.

In fact my domain is already setup with the R2 version, i only have a file
server in R1, and i would like to upgrade this one in order to use it for DFS
with antoher file server in R2

So you mean that in fact the upgrade from R1 to R2 is possible anf there is
no major pb..it that right ?

Just run setup2 from the second disk of the R2 set.

As long as you have the necessary licenses (R2 licenses are not usable
on R2 servers)....
