How can I delete a failed Domain Controller object from ActiveDirectory?

one of DC was crashed and I had reinstalled it.

When I attempt to join it to the domain again with the old name, I get
the error message "The
following error occurred attempting to join the domain NNNN" "The
specified
user already exists". I have cleaned up metadata, clean up site and
services , dns wins, but it did not work.

thanks in advance

Bruce

Hello bcao@lairdtech.com,

Did you follow this article to do the cleanup:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555846/en-us

After that is checked make sure that all DC's have replicated. Run "repadmin
/showrepl" without the quotes from the command line on any existing DC. Should
completely run without errors. If you got an error "unknown command" install
the suptools.msi from the install disk under support\tools folder.

Best regards
