Windows XP and windows Vista roaming profiles
Hello
I’m currently running Server 2003 R2 for my home based business and using roaming profiles. My work stations are running Windows XP pro and everything has worked great for the last three years. I have purchase a new computer and it running Windows Vista ultimate. I have added the Vista machine to the domain and have noticed that user profiles are not loading to the Vista work station. I did a little research on the net and it seems that XP profiles are not compatible with Vista profiles. I have noticed that I have two profiles for each user , the old XP profile and the new Visa profile .V2 After a little more research it seems that I need to setup a folder redirect to keep the profiles the same. I read through the MS Roaming User deployment guide: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...%20Gu ide.doc I’m not sure if this is how to solve my problem or is there a simpler way to do this. I want to be able to use the same roaming profile in windows Server 2003 on my work stations running XP and Vista. I’m not sure if this is possible and wondering if I should move all my profiles to the new Vista profiles and upgrade all my work stations to Vista |
