Word Configuration error
I have a nice shiny, new system running Vista, and older Dell laptop running
XP. (both legal) I copied Office 2003 onto a CD from the Vista system and put it onto the XP system. When I try to run the program it tells me it is not configured. How do I do so? |

Re: Word Configuration error
You can't do that. You need the original installation disk to install
Office. You cannot copy it from another PC: it doesn't work. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Pandy" <Pandy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2FCBBACA-1908-4807-9ED8-F4A5817C1561@microsoft.com... >I have a nice shiny, new system running Vista, and older Dell laptop >running > XP. Re: Word Configuration error
Hi Pandy,
MS Office needs to be installed to run. If Office came with the PC (i.e. if it's an OEM edition) it's licensed to a single machine and while installable it's likely that you won't be able to activate it on the 2nd computer. If you installed it on Windows XP using an Admin account, are you now in a different account or the same one? ============== <<"Pandy" <Pandy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2FCBBACA-1908-4807-9ED8-F4A5817C1561@microsoft.com...
