Woord 2007 Shows visual Basic Compile Error on opening
As of about a week ago, when I double click on a Word file (version doesn't
matter) Word opens, but not the document. On my screen is a dialog box titled Micorsoft Visual Basic" that says "Compile error in hidden module: AZWizardModul". Over that diaglog box that says "Cannot complte the command because a dialog box is open." I have to go to the menu or ^O and select the document again. It comes up that time, but it displays the same messages. Error showed up after a Microsoft update that conflicted with Zone Alarm and lost my internet connection. Thanks to Zone Alarm, accessed from a different computer, that has been solved, but I ran every spyware and hardware maintenance program I have to try to figure out what was wrong before being notified (via another computer) that the problem was. Repair Office procedure says nothing is wrong. |

That error message doesn't indicate a virus or spyware. You have a copy of the Avery label wizard ("AZ" indicates "Avery Zweckform", created by their German subsidiary) that isn't compatible with Office 2007. Look in the folders %appdata$\Microsoft\Word\Startup %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office12\STARTUP for a template whose name mentions Avery or Dennison or AZWizard, move it to a different folder, and then restart Word. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Following Mr. Freedman's proposition I shifted the AZWizard from the startup file into XLStart and this annoying interfering stopped and Word opens without hesitation. However I had to re-install the AveryWizard, it could not be started any longer. Thanks for help. > > "Jay Freedman" wrote: > > > On Mon, 21 Jul 2008 17:16:10 -0700, Reluctant Publisher User > > <ReluctantPublisherUser@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > > >As of about a week ago, when I double click on a Word file (version doesn't > > >matter) Word opens, but not the document.
