Word fonts are missing-so is my Normal.dot
tI recently got a new desktop at work. I set all up and installed Office
Basic Edition 2003. I did not get any errors while installing. When I use Word, I cannot set macros, as I had finally determined that I did not have normal.dot template and some of the fonts are missing and when I use Windows Explorer to search my Hard Drive or Network drives, I get an error message stating that it has encountered and error and needs to shut down and then it locks up my computer. Any thoughts If I reinstall Office, how to completely remove all files so can have a good reinstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks |

Re: Word fonts are missing-so is my Normal.dot
You need a locally installed printer driver set as the Windows default: that
will sort your font problem and possibly most of the other problems. Normal.dot isn't created until you make a change to Word's defaults that needs a normal.dot in order to save the configuration change. Changes such as default font, default paper or margins, etc all need a normal.dot. Reinstalling Office will not resolve any problems. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Theresa" <Theresa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:560F9FE1-8C60-4573-9AAC-C0B13AF4E503@microsoft.com... > tI recently got a new desktop at work. Re: Word fonts are missing-so is my Normal.dot
Are the printer drivers installed on the machine LOCALLY? Missing fonts are
because Word cannot see a local printer driver.
