Re: control userpasswords2
Hi,
You can add "Control.exe" to the disallow list. See "Method 2" in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323525 -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com Winhelponline.com blog http://www.winhelponline.com/blog "Jake" <Jake@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9AE93D72-A6F7-44D1-93DC-227313C73044@microsoft.com... Is there any way to disable 'control userpasswords2' from opening in certain accounts? |

Re: control userpasswords2
The edit works just fine here (running Windows XP Pro).
- - - Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun] "1"="control.exe" - - - Logoff and login back for the change to take effect. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com Winhelponline.com blog http://www.winhelponline.com/blog "Jake" <Jake@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:711E28F9-C458-4091-9152-348C7BEC786F@microsoft.com... Thanks for your reply. Didn't seem to work, I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 so it probably doesn't work for home edition. Thanks anyway! |

Re: control userpasswords2
You can still access Control Panel from Start menu or using other methods, by not by typing Control.exe.
