DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
stop; 0x000000D1 (0X8A3AAFA4, 0X00000002,......................)
ftdisk.sys - address F84B7967 BASE......................) I reformatted my hdd and got valiodated/updated etc. After the installation, I downloaded the driver forthe audiomedia controller from hp web site for my presario. When I put backs its soriginal keyboard and mouse (both usb) there was a hike of usb devices installations. Subsequently reboot I get this message. Now when I use back the non-descript kb/mouse, I am also getting this message. What is wrong with my installation. Cos when I did the reformatting I did not use the hp recovery cd as I havelose it. Any ideas as how can I resolved this issue. Thank You. |

Re: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The Stop Error Report is suggesting that the problem is with ftdisk.sys.
This is a Microsoft driver on the Windows XP CD. http://www.internetsecurityzone.com/...FT+Disk+Driver Have you used a genuine Windows XP CD or a recovery CD intended for a specific machine? -- Hope this helps. Re: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Many thanks for the guidance. I did a 'repair' and also found out that its
mouse is faulty. I downloaded the drivers(mouse/keyboard) from HP website. Also for some reason the hp keyboard does not work (as I get the message " Windows cannot find C:\Compaq\Eakdrv\StartDRV.exe" or C:\Compaq\lutil\wizhost.exe"). The keyboard works on my DIY pc. So just did a swap to settle the issue. Thanks a lot for all the help.
