XP-PRO's Back-Up Program
Can anyone tell me if XP's Back-Up program is efficient? I have seen where
people have "thought" they had a back-up and something was wrong with it. Also, Can this back-up program be accomplished to an external NTFS drive rather than the A drive that I recall? Thank you in advance and if anyone has any special pointers I would be grateful. Re: XP-PRO's Back-Up Program
If you are looking to back up everything ntbackup is not the program to use.
It is not a full-featured backup program. It is not as efficient as third-party solutions. Consider a much better backup solution like Acronis True Image. It is not expensive. If *all* you're interested in is regularly backing up files to an external source (such as an external NTFS drive), then NTBACKUP will work fine. If you're interested in backing *everything* up, I would recommend imaging software such as Acronis True Image. Sure, you *could* try using NTBACKUP and also back up the System State and use a floppy, etc., but that's a pain! Seriously, use something like Acronis. |

I second that. -- Jerry Maguire: Help me... help you. Help me, help you. ;-) |
