Display
I have a Dell Lattitude D610. It has worked faithfully for a couple of
years. However, when an anti-virus program updated itself it became unstable. I reinstalled everything from an image I had and changed anti-virus programs. However, in the midst of it a straight horizontal line has formed across the length of my laptop display. It is there even as the computer is booting. So, my guess is that there is nothing that can be done and that it is a defect in the screen. Or, perhaps I am wrong. Any suggestions? Thank you! BTW, I am running windows xp home. |

Re: Display
Most notebooks have a Analog Video output. To determine if the
LCD or Video card ( Chipset ) is defective you could hook up to an external monitor. If the horizontal line doesn't display then the LCD Panel itself has the defect. It does seem unusual that this is happening just after a image recovery.
