Explorer.exe and I/O Other - waaaay high
XP Pro, SP 2. All windows updates, behind a firewall, domain member.
Domain Controller is OFF. other domain members off. I watch 4k blocks every second go to "I/O other" in task manager from Explorer.exe. unplug network cable and rate slowed to acceptable. have been using myspace/photobucket a lot. Cannot find cause with spybot 1.5 or ad-aware or Mcafee Stinger. I feel extra I/O is much more than system maintence overhead. have about 12 threads on explorer.. how can I detect/clean up the problem? explorer never used to do this- have been watching it and something happened since myspace. Thanks for all the great expertise in advance James W. Long Network Administrator JamesLong@wowway.com |
