Re: Trying to access a drive from CMD to pull virus fix from cd
Let me see if I have this right:
1. You have a virus fix on a CD. 2. You can't access the CD using Windows Explorer. 3. You think you should be able to access the CD from a CMD prompt. The direct answer is that you simply type in the letter of the CD drive followed by a colon: and then press <Enter>. You then run DIR /s to see what's on it and where your file is and make it easy to type in the path\filename to run it, assuming that's what you want to do. The real question is how did you discover you have a virus, are you certain of the diagnosis, and who provided the fix? More information about all of this, including any other places you went for help, and especially just which virus it is will help us know better how to help you. -- Gary S.
