disk operating system
dear sir/madam,
i had a problem with an anti virus software where it is telling me to reinstall. however as the software came with the computer and i don't have a password I need to remove it completely so that i can install a new version. however, i cannot get support from the actual people, so i was wondering if you can tell me how i reformat my hard drive even thought the windows xp professional operating system hasn't failed. i need to reformat so i can install a new virus protector. however it won't allow me to do it without removing the other one. any help would be most appreciated. |

Your post is light on details. For instance, you forgot to tell us the name of the current antivirus. Where does the password enter into this equation? What do you mean you "need to reformat"? You don't need to do a clean install of Windows to uninstall/install an antivirus! Is this a used computer that was part of a domain? We need answers in order to give you the focused help you want. Please remember that we can't see your computer from here. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |
