I am getting the same active mixer devices not available that some other

Well even if he doesn't, and it's just built into the MB, he can still
download some updated drivers for it. do you have any exclamation marks in your hardware list under devices in
control panel ? Have you checked all your wires and connections to ensure they are plugged in correctly and firmly.
